Don't get me wrong; I love mine. And I love email and blogs and Facebook. But we rely on them a lot, so when they fail, we are fucked.
Case in point: We had a slide show presentation to back up our English presentation today. It was beautiful. Made us look really polished and smooth. We planned to go between it and clips from our respective eras to talk about our stuff.
And the computer malfunctioned, so even though we carried on remarkably well, everyone was probably looking at the slideshow going haywire instead of listening to us. (Wadleigh always reminded us that something like 75% of what we perceive is visual, even what we hear, by way of getting us to dress nicely for concerts. So I know a lot of people may not have paid strict attention.) Still, we had a great Q&A section afterwards, so people had to have been paying attention, at least a little bit.
I anticipate a good grade. Carol (la profesora) was impressed with how well we carried on despite technological issues. But given the amount of work that went into it, it would have been nice to have it go smoothly so that we didn't feel like idiots.
