... but it is SO HARD to make it work! In my head all of these freaking associations are working perfectly, but when you get to a point where you have to analyze the hell out of something and put it into words, knowing that your words must be so carefully arranged that it becomes an absolutely terrifying task. One misstep and you're screwed. Our professor said of one of the theory articles that we read, "Notice how Saussure is like a surgeon with his words." For the moment, I am a bad surgeon. I don't know where to put what or which artery to clamp and the patient's bleeding out on me right now.
How's that for working the metaphor?
At least the paper only needs to be three pages long (max). And you know what my mom, the nurse says that all the surgeons say, "All bleeding stops eventually."
