My sociology paper is twelve pages long and almost finished. Hurray.
The incredible thing is that I started on it so early that I'm not racing to finish it. I've work on it for an hour or two each day, as opposed to the usual seven-hour-plus marathon that I usually put myself through (then again, that's literary and textual analysis, not sociology research). At the rate I'm going, it'll be finished by tomorrow. Then I'll make everyone I know read it and revise it. It's due on Monday. I'm glad that's almost over.
The problem with the paper is that everything else has taken a backseat to it- namely studying for the actual soc exam and chemistry review. I was ticked at myself- I knew most of the chem stuff cold for the previous exams, and alas, it had all flown out of my head (as my crappy online assignment score shows). I'll be glad to get that over with, too. I'm not excited for the sociology exam- I've never been more bored or disappointed with a course than this one. That's probably why I'm killing myself on the paper; so that I feel like I've accomplished something. And Spanish isn't until Thursday, but it's going to be a piece of cake.
In other news, I had lunch with my mom, my brother, and my sister today, which was SO nice. I was glad to see them. And glad for free food. :) I also got my super-single room squared away (my own room AT LAST!!!), although my roommate has not yet even told the RD that she's leaving. Major dorm rule- you can't just leave; you have to check out. And you have to tell them in advace that you're leaving. And you'd think that after five years in college (for a 60-credit major with no minor and a 2.5 average, I might add. Is that snobby? It's the frustration talking) you'd know that about living in the dorms. Less than a week left- next Wednesday will be my last night with the roommate from hell. I might ask Kime if I can sleep in the extra bed in her room during finals week so that I can actually get some sleep during exams. No more of this "keeping the light on and laughing at Family Guy until 4am" shit.
In 136 hours, I will be done with this quarter. In 204 hours, I will be at the airport to leave for Mexico. Life is good.
