'Twas the night before finals (by Hilary Dobel, HNA class of 2004)

Twas the night before finals and all through the school
Every HNA girl was losing her cool.
The girls had made flash cards and studied with care
In hopes that someday good grades would be theirs.
Tired and shaking and ready to crack,
I decided to take a restorative nap
When outside my window arose such a clatter
I lurched from the sofa to see what was the matter,
When what to my bloodshot eyes should appear
But my study group, quaking and shaking with fear!
Hyped up on caffeine and nearly insane
They recited their theorems and came in from the rain.
I said, “Are you crazy? I’m trying to sleep!
I have a grade point I’m trying to keep!”
One girl stepped forward with a sleep-deprived grin,
“We brought you some java—thanks for letting us in.
We thought we should stay up and study some more.
After all, who needs sleep? I mean, jeez, what a bore.”
I said to myself, “They’ve finally lost
Their minds and I’ll save them, whatever the cost.”
So I lured them outside with biology notes,
Handing them sedatives and all their raincoats.
I let out a groan as I bolted the door.
The alarm clock flashed red—it was quarter to four.
I called back to my study group, not yet out of sight,
“Happy finals, you weirdos. I’m sleeping. Good night!”

I can't believe I remembered that... now if I could memorize stuff for my exams like that, I'd be in great shape.
